Privacy Policy

We collect the least we need to run the app: your name and email if you make an account, the deals you claim, and your payment status. We never sell your personal information. Your card details go straight to our payment processor — we never see them.

When you create a student account, we store your name and email address. Your password is stored by our authentication provider in an encrypted form — we never see or store your actual password.

We also store which deals you claim, so your claimed deals and savings total reappear the next time you sign in. Deal claims are visible only to you and to site administrators for support.

If you delete your account or ask us to delete it, your profile and claim history are removed.

When you describe what you're looking for in the AI deal matcher, the text of your request is sent to an AI model to find matching local deals. We send only your request text — not your name, email or account details. Your requests are not used to build a profile of you.

Paid plans (Plus and Circle) are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. When you pay, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout — College Deal Finder never sees or stores your full card number, expiration date or security code.

We store only your subscription status: which plan you're on, your billing period, and whether it's active or cancelled. If you cancel, we keep your subscription record until your paid period ends so your access continues to the end of the period.

If you're a business submitting or managing a deal, we store your business name, contact name, email address, phone number and the details of the deals you submit.

Once a deal is approved, the business name and the deal details become publicly visible on the site. Your contact name, email and phone number are used only for reviewing your submission and contacting you about it — they are not shown publicly.

Business account credentials are protected the same way as student accounts: we never see your actual password.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't run third-party advertising trackers. We don't post anything to social media on your behalf. We don't share your claimed deals or savings with businesses.

Only the services needed to run the app:

• Our hosting and database provider, which stores account and deal data.
• Stripe, for payment processing.
• The AI model provider, for the text of deal-matcher requests only.

We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request from Florida or U.S. authorities.

We use a small amount of browser storage to keep you signed in between visits. There are no advertising or analytics cookies today. If we add usage analytics later, this policy will be updated first.

We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account — or email us to delete it — we remove your profile, claimed deals and deal submissions. Payment records are kept only as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes.

You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time using the contact details below.

College Deal Finder is intended for college students and their families, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version on this page. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we'll notify you in the app before it takes effect.
